I wanted to honor the unwavering strength of Sabreen, a mother from Gaza who fights for her children with endless love and resilience. With this belief, I directed Gaza’s Patient Heart.
Film Festivals
After just one month of distribution, my film Gaza’s Patient Heart has been accepted into 13 film festivals, won 1 award, and received 1 honorable mention. I served as the director, producer, DOP, gaffer, sound recordist, sound editor, colorist, film editor, and distribution manager. This was a fully independent project that I personally funded.
Film Story
Gaza’s Patient Heart tells the story of a family wounded by genocide and forced to leave Gaza in search of urgent medical treatment in Qatar. Through the mother’s narration, the film takes us deep into her journey of pain and loss, but also sacrifice and an extraordinary capacity for resilience as she struggles to protect and care for her loved ones.
Through her voice, the film exposes the daily realities of life under genocide, portraying Palestinians not as numbers or headlines but as human beings clinging to life. It reveals an inner quiet strength and a defiant hope that refuses to fade despite the wounds, offering a moving portrait of survival in the face of genocide.
The film transcends borders and language, opening a window into a profoundly human experience that reflects the essence of the Palestinian spirit: the will to endure in the shadow of death, the determination to hold on to dignity, and the belief that memory can keep the truth alive even in the darkest of times.
