I won a DFI locals film grant for the preproduction phase to make a Qatari short film I am producing, and my friend Mohammed Fakhroo is directing it. Also, I have been a film juror with the DFI festival for the past four years, and I represented DFI at The Giffoni International Film Festival in Italy. I was a founding member of Ajyal Film Club, where I was planning and moderating film talks and educating youth about filmmaking.
DFI reached out to recruit me as a full-time digital content creator in the marketing and youth education departments. My tasks include pitching ideas, organizing media campaigns, script writing, directing, producing, filming, and editing content that will be posted on DFI and Ajyal socials. I was also selected to be the director of DFI's first podcast featuring Oscar-nominated filmmakers; it is currently in the preproduction phase.
Below are some posts I have created for DFI, and they received high amount of views. The “Film as resistance” video became viral and received over 91,000 views in 12 days without paid promotion. This post received the highest number of views compared to all videos posted on DFI’s Instagram account for the past three years. The engagement on these posts is organic without paid promotion.
